Remembering Allen Day

Allen Day and I became friends in the early 80's. We were part of a magical period in the Bay Area prior to the dawn of the AIDS crisis. Allen and his lover Louis Bryan introduced me their world, their brilliant circle of friends and showed me that every second does count. I miss you Allen, your sweet smile and wicked laugh. "Better for hearing your voice." I chose black leather over black denim for Allen's panel. And this quotation: “Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.” “I am not bound over to swear allegiance to any master; where the storm drives me I turn in for shelter.” – Horace
